I really love the way this pair of earrings turned out.  I call them my celestial earrings.  I used a Swarovski star crystal and floated below the moon and stars.  The crystals are in the shade of crystal ab.  All metal used is sterling silver.  The earrings are 3 inches in length and that does include the earring hooks.

Need A Necklace?

I recently made some minimalist necklaces.   A minimalist necklace is just a very simple, elegant necklace.  In this case I just added one crystal or a few stones to the necklace.  The first three necklaces are Swarovski crystals while the last one is red coral gemstones.  You can pick the length on most of the necklaces that I have listed.  And you can pick it you want them oxidized or now.  Here they are.   Enjoy!

Holidays

It sure has been busy around here!  I'm sure you all are just as busy.  I had to drive into town today (I live 48 miles one direction to my Mom's in Scottsdale), to have dinner with my Mother and sister.  We had a great time.  However, I think my sister and I were the youngest ones in there and I'm retired!  LOL!  What the problem was for this evening was the traffic!  Okay, so it was rush hour when I was headed that direction, but it's also Snowbird season...winter visitor season!  YIKES!  Our population more than triples in the winter months.  I think they were all head in the same direction on the freeway as I was and to the same restaurant we were going to!  I think I'll stay off the freeways for a while, like till about April when they all go home!

I did manage to get some new earrings made.   I will be posting them soon. For now since most of the country is experiencing winter weather, not here it was 77 today, here are a few shawl pins or sweater pins.

Fall In Arizona

Fall is finally here in Arizona!  The leaves on our trees are turning fall colors and falling off the tree.  It's beautiful to see, but a mess to clean up.  We only have four trees that do this, the rest stay green all year long. Our average temps this time of year are usually in the mid 60's but it's been a lot warmer lately, more in the 70's.  In fact it was in the 80's on Thanksgiving.  It was nice!  Maybe this is why everyone wants to move here?  Well, if you can stand the long HOT summers then you will be awarded the beautiful winters we have here.

WOW! It's been a while!

Hello Everyone!

Can I say I've been a bit busy lately?  Honestly, I've been dealing with my husband and my mother and their health issues.  They both have back issues, similar in a way.  My husband has several old back injuries from playing football in high school and again in college.  But with his age now the added arthritis and the injury has caused many problems.  He actually got to the point where he couldn't walk on his left leg.  Had to use a cane in order to move around.  The low back and leg were always in pain.  They the leg started going numb and he couldn't use it.  Lost a lot of muscle tone.  So his doctors sent him to the pain specialist for epidural injections.  they ended up doing 4 of them, but not any better. 

Now, my mother is 87 years old.  She has the normal back issues of an 87 year old.  But she also has scoliosis that was never taken care of when she was a child.  So now she has that added problem and a lot of pain. 

So...I was taking my husband in for his back injections one day a week and then driving out to Scottsdale (an hour away from where I live) to take my mom in for her injections.  This went on for a month and a half.  Then in September my husband had surgery.  He's still recuperating but much, much better!!!  As for mom, she's doing better too.  The last injection really helped her.  But she's do for another one soon. 

Please take care of your back because as we age we will have arthritis and if you have an injury it will just get worse.  Take care of yourself and those around you that you love.  :-)

New Earrings!

I just love these petite earrings!  They are made with AAA quality peridot gemstones and a lot of sterling silver wire.  Very pretty!  The birthstone for August!  Or like myself, I have several peridot jewelry pieces since my anniversary is in August.  Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Busy Week!

What a week!!!   It started on Monday.  I took my mom in for a back procedure.  She's already had 3 sets of epidurals to her back and 3 hip injections.  On Monday I was at the surgical center in north Scottsdale for a new diagnostic procedure for her.  She's nearly 87 years old and honestly I don't think there's much more they can do for her. 

Then Tuesday was house cleaning and laundry and shopping, grocery and errands. Wednesday at another surgical center in Gilbert, AZ with my husband for his back procedure. He has spinal stenosis and if having a lot of difficulty with one leg and a lot of pain.  They have already done 2 epidurals on his back and they haven't worked for him either.  The next step is surgery.  So that's in the near future. 

Then on Thursday he wanted to see his parents and since he can't drive, back to Scottsdale to we went, and it's 48 miles one way from our house. Back over to mom's to check on her and meet with the young man who was working on her yard, and then back home, (an all day trip).  We were gone all day! 

Friday I thought I was going to create, but I met with my trainer in the morning and then started the laundry, which had gotten way behind this week.  Friday night I was FINALLY able to create. I need to take pictures of the items, BUT it's was cloudy and raining off and on Saturday.  It NEVER rains here!  Maybe tomorrow will be a good day.  It's still a bit cloudy here and I like to take my pictures on my patio.  Love that indirect lighting.

Hello, I'm Back!

Hi Everyone! 

I know I've been gone for a while but I'm back!  I've been a bit busy taking care of my husband and mother.  Both pretty much have the same thing, back issues.  One week I take my mom in for a lumbar epidural and the next I take my husband in for the same thing.  So I've become a caregiver to two people living about 50 miles apart!  Tomorrow morning I have to go to Scottsdale to take my mom to her doctor.  Then on Wednesday this week I have to take my husband to his doctor.   Wouldn't it be great if they both had the same doctor and had their procedures on the same day? 

I would like to say though, please take care of your backs!  As we grow older we will have some stenosis (narrowing of the spinal column) and causing pain on those nerves.  But if you have herniated discs, then it's much worse.  And in my mother's case, she has scoliosis that was never taken care of when she was younger so now with the age (87) stenosis, she's in bad shape.  I only hope that the injections tomorrow will help.  As for my husband, it's stenosis also but also 2 herniated discs.  He'll need surgery eventually.  But we are trying to get him out of pain and do the surgery later.  Take care of your backs!!!

Just Got Back In Town!

Hi Everyone! We've been gone for a mini vacation to Houston, Texas.  We use to live there and we went back for a wedding.  The bride was Beautiful!!!  The Church they got married in was an historic little old Church in League City, southeast of Houston.  We wouldn't miss this wedding in the world!  After all we were there when she was born!  It was really a beautiful wedding!

We also got to see our old neighborhood as well as some of our friends.  We didn't get to see everyone, but we did the best we could.  We enjoyed all the greenery!  After living in the southwest deserts for so long we had forgotten about the flowers, trees and that you don't have to water the heck out of everything to get it to turn green!  It was great!

Are We Having Fun Yet?

So it's really summer now.  Are you having fun yet?  I was over at my daughter's house yesterday for dinner and I noticed that the kids are already getting bored with summer.  LOL I remember those days!  Thank goodness they only have 4 more weeks and they are back in school for the year.  Now my daughter and her husband aren't so happy.  They are both teachers and they go back in 3 weeks.  Bummer!!!  LOL! 

Here are a few more recent listings.  Hope you like them!  Just click on the picture and it will take you to the listing.  For this first pair of earrings I fused fine silver wire into a rings.  I added beautiful lampwork in the middle of the rings and authentic white sea glass to dangle below.  Beautiful earrings!

This second pair of earrings are made with pure copper and a multifaceted rock crystals. 

 This third pair of earrings are made with ceramic beads on the bottom with Czech glass beads, lampwork beads, brass bead caps and sterling silver.

 For this fourth pair of earrings I used sterling silver wire to form the teardrops.  What could go perfect with these teardrop earrings?  I paired them with teardrop Unicorne lampwork beads.  Perfect! 

 This is a lovely pin made from pure copper wire and three light green lampwork beads.

New Listings

It's been a few weeks since I blogged.  It's been really busy around here and next week we are going out of town again to Houston.  Ya, I know, it's not the time of year to go there since it will be hot and humid.  Well, it can't be much worse than here living in the southwest deserts!  In fact we lived there for 17 years and 2 years in New Orleans so I guess you can say we are use to it.  But I was thinking about the difference in the two places the other day.  I was raised in Arizona and I learn from a very young age that water is very precious!  We have very little out here and in fact it hasn't rained in 112 days now.  Bone dry!  Our humidity is on 7% today with a dew point of 17%.  Not much in moister out there.  I feel like a prune!  But when we lived in Houston, people take water from granted.  It was very hard for me to accept that.  But it rains all the time there and people just get use to it.  Sigh....

Hello There!

I hope you all are having a great weekend!  I don't know about all of you, but it's HOT here!  So we spent the day in the pool.  The only way to stay cool around here.  It was suppose to be 107 but the temp gauge outside said 110 today.  WOW, it's only May 31st!  It's going to be a long hot summer I'm afraid! 

I have listed two more pins.  The first one has the most beautiful turquoise and green colors.  I added two Czech glass crystals to the lampwork bead.  The rest of the pin was free formed out of sterling silver. 

The second pin is made of copper, a lampwork bead and two Czech glass crystals. It again is a free formed pin.  Hope you like these as much as I do. This is really a beautiful lampwork bead.  It's made of different shapes of green, purple, lavender and blues.  Pairing with the lavender crystals brings out the purples in the lampword bead.

It's been a while since I've been here.  We've been out of town plus dealing with a few health issues with my husband.  Slowly getting back to normal!

New Listing!

Hello There!

We have been out of town for four days.  Just got back late last night.  We went to sunny San Diego to spend some time with our daughter and her family.  We had the best time!  The kids were out of school on Thursday due to the fires and the heat.  Now I find that a bit weird!  I know it was hot inland but they live on Coronado Island and the highs were only in the low 90's and they don't live near the fires.  The fires are in the northern part of San Diego.  I hope they can get those out soon.  It was so devastating to see the news reports.  We could see the smoke from the island though.  Not pretty!

We did have fun watching the Navy Seals practice blowing things up on the beach.  LOL!  Where our daughter lives the beach is right over their back fence.  That beach is where the Seals practice.  So we got to watch the ships our in the ocean, helicopters hovering over the water, people dropping out of the helicopters, seeing the grenades blowing up sand and the guns going off.  WOW!  This went on all day long into the late evening.  It was AWESOME to say the least!

Anyway, we are back to our normal hot desert!  I have listed a new pair of earrings.  I love this pair of earrings.  It has three shapes, circles/round, triangles and squares.  Love the turquoise and the copper together.  Enjoy!  You can click on the picture and the link will take you to the listing.

I See Starfish

I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all my friends who have children.  I hope you all have a great day tomorrow.  That you are catered to your every little whim for the day!  :-)

I love the beach, I love going to the beach, I love seeing what I can find on the beach. Looks like a caught a couple of teal starfish!  I also love teal, turquoise and green with copper.  So when I got these starfish in I decided I had to partner them with copper.  As you can see they are swimming blow a circle of copper that has been fused together.  The way they are put together there is a lot of sparkle and movement.  The starfish are Swarovski crystals along with two other crystals complete these earrings.  If you click on the picture it will take you to the listing.

New Listings

I'm finally getting to some new listings.  I hope you like them.  The first pair if what I call a rustic tribal pair of earrings.  I love the flow to these earrings.  These have lampwork beads, faceted onyx gemstones, hematite gemstones and Swarovski crystals.  All put together with a lot of sterling silver.  Click the picture and it'll take you to the listing.

Special Order

Hello Everyone!
I've been working on a special order over the weekend.  A close friend to the family had passed away two weeks ago.  She was my mom's companion.  Everywhere my mom went Edith went.  We even started calling her Grandma 2.  She has three daughters and when they had a memorial for their mother they told a story about dragonflies that their mother told them as little girls.  So my sister and I decided I needed to make them some earrings with dragonflies.  I hope they find much joy and happy remembrances of their mother wearing these as I did making them.  RIP Grandma 2, you will be missed dearly!

WOW!

Today I was in a seminar all day long in Phoenix.  It was the best seminar I think I've ever been to regarding the organization we belong to.  Our commodity is travel.  Plan and simple!  We had two of the best in our industry training us today.  These young men are so inspiring!  It's just amazing how one young man who is 25 and retired already and retiring his parents now too!!!  WOW is about all I can say!

My husband and I have already taken one big trip last February and are looking forward to several more this summer.  We took a Caribbean cruise to Cozumel and in Sept we are going to the Bahamas.  We have a two more trips planned in between throughout the summer.  One to Houston and another to Vegas.  Wish I could be gone ALL summer when it's just so dang hot here.  Maybe I can plan it that way next year!  LOL!  I love my life and retired to just...travel!  We never thought we could do this, but someone showed us how and you can't stop us now!  Come join us!

New Earrings

I love this pair of earrings.  They are sassy but elegant!  These little orbs illuminate the light, just seem to glow.  They are Swarovski crystals in emerald green, just for those birthdays in May. Oh Dear!!!

Ok, so the frustrations are still coming!  So I was on my computer on facebook and decided to go upstairs to work on some jewelry.  Tried to get on facebook on my phone and it said that it wasn't me and to relog back into my acct.  Only I couldn't remember what my password was for facebook.  I tried all the ones that I thought it might be and it wasn't, apparently!  So I requested a new one from them and I was told that I apparently gave my info to a third party and that's against the rules!  What third party???  My PHONE???  So now I'm back on facebook but I'm being reprimanded and can't "Like" anything for 3 days!  Unbelievable! 

Moral of the this story...don't let you phone hijack your facebook page!

Computer Issues! UGH!

Today did not start out nice to say the least!  My computer wouldn't connect with the internet.  Not sure what was wrong so I turned off the computer and turned it back on.  Nope, it still wouldn't work.  Bummer!  So I turned it off again and left it off for a while.  Turned it back on and tried again.  No, the same thing, did this 3 times by now.  So I checked to make sure my wireless button was turned on, I have a habit of hitting it and turning it off.  It was on.  I turned it off and back on.  No luck!  Unplugged the computer and plugged it back in.  Checked my modem, it was on.  I was a bit annoyed by this point!  So I turned to my phone, thank goodness for smart phones, and left a message on my facebook page saying what my issues were.  A friend suggested turning off the modem and back on.  Guess what?  I'm back in business! 

Dang computers!  Can't live with them and can't live without them!!!

It's Tuesday!

WOW where did Monday go?  I must have missed it!  Here we are again.  I was busy over the weekend filling orders that had come in on Saturday.  But I did manage to make a couple of pairs of earrings to list. 

The first pair is perfect for the summer!  It's sunflowers and a beautiful golden yellow Swarovski crystals.  We should all have a pair of bright earrings like these for those bright colored clothes we wear in the summer months.  (Click on the picture and it will take you to the listing for these earrings.)

This second pair took a bit longer to make.  I first cut out the rectangles out of a copper sheet of metal.  Then I smoothed the edges and then hammered the surface for character.  These have been also oxidized for that rustic look.  This pair of earrings is a great pair for everyday.  (Click on the picture and it'll take you to the listing.)

WOW RAIN!!!

This is so beautiful this morning.  We woke up to rain, not just a light rain, which it is doing now, but a full our right downpour!  And it poured for about an hour.  This is amazing!  I know a lot of you probably don't even know why I'm so excited about the rain.  But living in the desert southwest we pray for rain almost every day.  We are so far behind in our water this year because we had very little snows up north in the winter that our lakes, our water supply for the valley is very low again.  We already had a few forest fires and they are warning people to be careful camping up north.  In fact they forest services have issued no campfires again. 

So...living in the desert can be a good thing in the dead of winter, but a bad thing in the summers.  sigh....  I don't think there's any place that's perfect right?  At least we don't have natural disasters, like hurricanes, tornadoes (too hot for those) very little earthquake activity, we just fry in the summer months.

Been A Long Day!

My Friday started with my trainer this morning.  Usually they are too bad, but this morning it was.  We did a complete workout which wasn't so bad but I woke up with a bad headache so everything was bad!  lol!  I love my trainer by the way!  She's is awesome, she can take this old body and create something new.  I like that idea, now we need to get it done!!!

I did manage to get another pair of earrings listed.  I love how these turned out.  As you can see they are just a piece of thick sterling silver wire that I wire wrapped little gemstones one.  I know the pictures makes the stone look huge, but they are not.  You can see in the picture of the earrings in my hand just what the size comparison is.  If you click on the picture it will take you to my Etsy shop listing of these earrings.

Been Busy!

Hi Everyone! 
I've been busy the past several days.  One, we need to get the pool ready for the summer which is right around the corner here.  In fact if we have many more days of the 90+ temps the water will be ready in no time!  Yes, it's been warm here!

Here are a few new pairs of earrings that I listed today in my Etsy Shop.  This first one is great for those who have a birthday in May.  Emerald green Swarovski crystal earrings.  I took two fine silver (.99% silver) wire and fused them together to form the hoops.  Hammered them to give them character and them added the Swarovski crystals.  They have also been oxidized for a more rustic feel.  (You can click the pictures of both earrings and it will take you to the listing.)

This second pair of earrings was made with fine silver again and I made two hoops per earring.  I added ceramic beads to complete this pair.  They also have been oxidized for character.

Time To Get To Work!

Wow, what a fun packed and profitable weekend.  It was my "big" birthday on Friday, so look out Social Security here I come!  LOL!  Early retirement, got love it!  Thank goodness the money is still there for us baby boomers! 

We had a great weekend. I sold 7 pairs of earrings and 2 necklaces to friends.  I'm doing a happy dance and it was all offline too.  Love those kinds of sales!  Nothing but profit for me! Going to have to get busy today and replace those items fast.  So keep an eye out for a lot of new things coming your way. :-)

Happy Easter

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  We actually have clouds and a little rain here, it's a great welcomed change!  It get boring to have sun all the time, so when we wake up to clouds it's a very welcome sight.  wish we could have more rain though.  We need it badly! 

Here's another pair of earrings that I've listed in my Etsy shop.  These have an intense blue color as you can see.  They are glass teardrops with a lot of sterling silver wire wrapped around them.  I left the sterling silver a bright color.  Very pretty!   These would be a good pair to rely on for everyday wear.  They are so blue, they remind me of the Caribbean waters which are this blue.  If you click on the picture it will take you to the listing in my Etsy Shop.

A Whole Lot Of Wire Wrapping Going On Here!

When I was staring at this piece of wire last weekend I decided to make a teardrop shape.  But it was lacking something.  So I got my super fine copper wire and started wrapping.  I wrapped tiny sterling silver beads around the outside of the earrings.  Then I wrapped the copper beads around the inside of the earrings.  I oxidized these earrings for that old rustic look and then tumbled them to strengthen the wire and to polish them.  Here's the masterpiece!  You can click on the picture and it will take you to the listing.

Hello!

I have to say, it sure feels good to be working in my bead room again!  It's been about 3 to 4 years that I had to put my designing on hold.  But since I retired last November I've had time to get my house back in order and now I can work in my bead room again!  Yeah!

I have quite a collection of gemstones and I find it hard to part with these beauties but on occasion I will make something with them and list them in my Etsy shop.  This pair of earrings started with a thick piece of sterling silver wire that I formed into a G shape.  I hammered the wire to give it some texture.  It was then put it into a tumbler to strengthen the wire and to polish it.  I took a very fine sterling silver wire and wire wrapped tourmaline gemstones in a variety of colors and tiny sterling beads around the wire.  I left these earrings a bright silver to show off the brilliant colors of the stones.

Good Morning!

I'm back!  I know it's been a while since I've posted, but since I retired for good now I have more time.  I've even started back to making the lovely things I enjoy to make.  With that being said...I will be posting new items here as I post to my Etsy Shop.

So much has happened in my life in the past several years.  Like I said, I did retire for good this time.  I finally made that golden year where social security will kick in, IF there's any left.  LOL!  Honestly I will be getting social security next month.  Yeah!  Never thought I'd get to this point in my life.  WOW, I'm old!

We've taken several trips recently.  We have joined a great group of friends and we do travel in style!  :-)  Since last July I've been to Denver several times, Dallas/Ft. Worth twice, Louisville, on a cruise to Cozumel, going to Houston in June, Vegas in July and another cruise to the Bahamas in Sept.  I LOVE my life!  I want to see the world and empty my bucket list, well if that's even possible.  I keep adding places to see to my bucket list!  LOL!
